A taste explosion…Volcanic wines. With a growing trend in volcanic wines, we are focusing on Italian wines this month. Volcanic wines are those produced on soils of volcanic origin. This could be young soil, a result of recent eruptions, or very old soil generated by past eruptions of extinct or dormant volcanoes. We will be adding new wines to our Italian range this Spring, so keep an eye out!

A glass of sunshine on a winter’s day. The Opportunist Shiraz, 2016 £8.99 The perfect choice for Christmas dinner. The Opportunist is full of warm Australian flavours and an energetic, vibrant nose of delicious, herbal cassis. Then some spice followed by a succulent palate of dark fruits and mocha with a savoury finish. Lovely balance, intense yet not over-powering. The grapes are sourced from premium Langhorne Creek vineyards and come from three separate blocks. They are all trellised and spur pruned. Soils are a mix of sandy loam and darker red soils with moderate fertility. Yields are low to moderate...
