Cool red...

No need to travel in search of sunshine with this spell of good weather so relax in the garden with a glass of cool Pinot Noir. This is a fresh, elegant wine full of cherry and raspberry flavours with hints of strawberry. Light, smooth and harmonious it pairs well with red meats and cheese. Excellent served cool from the cellar, it’s a hit for summer! La Umbra meaning shade, was inspired by the Romanian tradition to enjoy fresh, youthful wines whilst sitting in the shade of a large tree in country gardens.
Too hot for big flavours?

Too hot for wines with big flavours? It’s time to cool down with an ice cold glass of Pinot Grigio. Pinot Grigio is often overlooked for not having enough flavour but in a heatwave it’s just what you need. Ice cold from the fridge, it’s refreshing and light. A real deckchair wine. It is simple on the nose whilst on the palate it hints at gentle elderflower and lemon fruit. Lower in alcohol than many of our favourites, Pinot Grigio makes a great aperitif but is also easy to pair with many summer dishes. Try it with beetroot humus dip,...

Easy drinking wines come and go but this one will not go out of style…try it and love it! An exquisite marriage of Colombard and Sauvignon make this a refreshing wine bursting with flavours. A mixture of citrus, floral and exotic aromas hit the palate. With its soft finish it is perfect as an aperitif and with any fish or seafood dishes. Domaine Horgelus, one of our favourite wineries, was created by Joseph Le Menn in 1978 in the foothills of the Pyrenées. Now operated by his son, Yoan, the winery employs only a handful of staff making every effort...
Light but Spicy!

With the hot weather continuing we are in an Australian mood this week. Red wines are not associated with summer but this Shiraz is perfect in the heat. Slightly spicy but light it shows vibrant red berry and cherry flavours rounded off with a hint of vanillin oak. Medium bodied it is perfect for BBQ’s and one of our summer bestsellers. The De Bortoli winery started from humble beginnings and has remained family owned throughout its progression to creating premium wines. This Accomplice is produced in the Riverina region of South Australia where the flat plains and fertile red earth...
Marvellous Chenin Blanc

Summer holidays are always something to look forward to...why not try this Chenin Blanc while you make last minute plans. Selected from our specially curated Summer Selection Box. Some South African Chenins are better than others, this won’t disappoint with rounded tropical fruit notes and a refreshing crispness - perfect for the summer. The grapes are harvested by hand from old vines in Paarl and Drakenstein. Once blended, the wine is left to ferment naturally, often on lees for an extended period to increase the flavours. Great value. The Western Cape is a mountainous area bordering both the Indian...
