A touch of French sunshine

Colombard- Sauvgnon £6.69, La Valse des Mansengs £7.99
As the days get warmer, we love to relax with these two French wines from Horgelus. The Colombard-Sauvignon is an exquisite marriage of two grapes making a refreshing wine bursting with flavours. A mixture of citrus, floral and exotic aromas hit the palate. With its soft finish it is perfect as an aperitif and with any fish or seafood dishes.
La Valse des Mansengs is also a blend of two grapes, Gros and Petit Mansengs. This is a rich and complex dry white wine. A dash of Sauvignon Blanc is added to enhance the exotic notes of these two Gascon varieties. Aged for 6 months on the lees to create a delicate toasted finish. Perfect to serve with grilled fish and cheese.
Domaine Horgelus, one of our favourite wineries, was created by Joseph Le Menn in 1978 in the foothills of the Pyrenees and is now operated by his son, Yoan. The family run vineyard covers 90 hectares and also comprises over 30 hectares of woods and meadows. Amazingly, the winery employs only a handful of staff, making every effort to maintain the pristine quality of their fruit. Combining modernity and experience, they pick grapes through the cooler hours of dawn to preserve aromatics.
