High altitude wine

Posted by Ilona Roberts on

From a climate of snow and sun, and one man’s love of wine, comes this rich Argentinian Malbec. Dark red in colour with violet hints it delivers strong aromas of plums and black cherries.

The Gougenheim winery is one of the highest altitude vineyards in the Mendoza region. In a desert climate region, they use melt water from the Andes mountains to irrigate the vines growing on unique alluvial soils.

“I wanted a change in my quality of life…to produce something which I am proud of.” Patricio Gougenheim
