WINES GOOD WITH FOOD

Viognier, Mont Rocher
France
£9.49

Viognier - hard to say!
Vee-on-ee-yay (ignore the letter ‘g!)
Also not the easiest grape to grow. It almost disappeared completely in the mid-20th century, with only 14 hectares left in the northern Rhone area of France.

What does it taste like?
Full flavoured, with ripe apricot and honeysuckle aromas - almost exotic!

Versatile with food
Great with both sweet and spicy dishes. Try it with Pad Thai noodles or a lamb tagine.

Verdejo, Bodegas Lan
Spain
£9.99

Verdejo means "greenish".
An uncommon, light-bodied white wine that grows almost exclusively in Spain.

What does it taste like?
Best described as a cross between Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio with aromas of citrus, pears and fennel.

Versatile with food
It LOVES food, pairing well with seafood, goat's cheese and chicken wrapped in bacon.

Available in store and online!
