The Opportunist Shiraz, 2016 £8.99
The perfect choice for Christmas dinner. The Opportunist is full of warm Australian flavours and an energetic, vibrant nose of delicious, herbal cassis. Then some spice followed by a succulent palate of dark fruits and mocha with a savoury finish. Lovely balance, intense yet not over-powering.
The grapes are sourced from premium Langhorne Creek vineyards and come from three separate blocks. They are all trellised and spur pruned. Soils are a mix of sandy loam and darker red soils with moderate fertility. Yields are low to moderate with good canopies that allow for a lengthy ripening period resulting in a big, juicy wine.
