Something special...spoil yourself!

With the summer full of promise of beautiful garden parties…take along something special for you host. An elegant and superbly balanced Loire Sauvignon. Light, dry and crisp in the mouth. Delicious gentle gooseberry and lime flavours mix with very subtle tropical notes. With its characteristic hints of flint and smoke it makes a lovely accompaniment to light food or simply enjoyed as an aperitif. At the Domaine Jean-Pierre Bailly, the Pouilly-Fumé vines are between ten and 40 years old, planted on limestone and clay-limestone soils. Cool red...

No need to travel in search of sunshine with this spell of good weather so relax in the garden with a glass of cool Pinot Noir. This is a fresh, elegant wine full of cherry and raspberry flavours with hints of strawberry. Light, smooth and harmonious it pairs well with red meats and cheese. Excellent served cool from the cellar, it’s a hit for summer! La Umbra meaning shade, was inspired by the Romanian tradition to enjoy fresh, youthful wines whilst sitting in the shade of a large tree in country gardens.

Lower in alcohol than many of our favourites, Pinot Grigio makes a great aperitif but is also easy to pair with many summer dishes. Try it with beetroot humus dip,...

Try it and love it!

Easy drinking wines come and go but this one will not go out of style…try it and love it! An exquisite marriage of Colombard and Sauvignon make this a refreshing wine bursting with flavours.  A mixture of citrus, floral and exotic aromas hit the palate.   With its soft finish it is perfect as an aperitif and with any fish or seafood dishes. Domaine Horgelus, one of our favourite wineries, was created by Joseph Le Menn in 1978 in the foothills of the Pyrenées.   Now operated by his son, Yoan, the winery employs only a handful of staff making every effort...

Light but Spicy!

Light but Spicy!

With the hot weather continuing we are in an Australian mood this week.  Red wines are not associated with summer but this Shiraz is perfect in the heat. Slightly spicy but light it shows vibrant red berry and cherry flavours rounded off with a hint of vanillin oak.  Medium bodied it is perfect for BBQ’s and one of our summer bestsellers. The De Bortoli winery started from humble beginnings and has remained family owned throughout its progression to creating premium wines.  This Accomplice is produced in the Riverina region of South Australia where the flat plains and fertile red earth...
